Speaking Your SharePoint User’s Language: Better Training for Real People

Everyone experiences the world a little bit differently, so we have to ask ourselves: does it make sense to expect them all to learn–or be taught–in exactly the same way?
In this session we’re going to explore the different learning styles in the popular VARK model and how they relate practically to SharePoint training and support. Understanding how we can optimize our methods and materials to reach the greatest number of users, in the way they respond to the best, means greater training outcomes for everyone.
We’ll look at different ways to train users on SharePoint and what works best in different situations: techniques ranging from traditional classroom training, to self-help and coaching, to gamification. Things you can think about from day to day, or when planning your next training session.

Finally, we’ll take a tour of Content Panda for SharePoint, an application capable of delivering content and training across a variety of different learning styles, simultaneously. It allows SharePoint stakeholders to present in-context, on-demand training and guidance to their users from within the SharePoint user interface itself—wherever it makes the most sense.
